2022.06.10
In 2021 and 2022, we have witnessed the prevalence of new-generation PCIe 4.0 SSDs and optimized DRAM-less solutions respectively. The latter has become a new technology highlight in the post-PCIe 4.0 era and has won the favor of many PC original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as it can provide the outstanding performance of Gen4 to consumers at an affordable price.
After the release of the XP2100, FORESEE launched another PCIe Gen 4.0 x4 cacheless master control SSD — the XP2000, which also supports the mainstream protocol NVMe 1.4 and includes TCG Opal 2.0 and Pyrite 2.0, as well as many other encryption functions.

SoC with Built-in ARM Cortex-R8 Dual-core CPU
ARM Cortex-R8 and Cortex-R7 basically share the same architecture design features. Their operating frequency can reach 650MHz and they support 4 channels, each of which allows 4CE and 1600MT/s. Compared with Cortex-R7, the performance of Cortex-R8 is improved by almost 100%.

176-Layer 3D NAND Flash
FORESEE XP2000 PCIe SSDs leverage the original advanced 176-layer 3D NAND flash to greatly reduce read-write latency, improve mixed workload capability, and help storage applications realize higher performance and stability in desktops, laptops, data centers, and other environments.

Compatibility Certified by Multiple Platforms
Support for PC OEMs
FORESEE XP2000 PCIe SSDs fully support the Host Memory Buffer (HMB) function. Empowered by a built-in intelligent power management unit, they can achieve ultra-low power consumption in both active and idle modes. With excellent performance and power consumption, XP2000, an all-rounder, has been certified by Intel Modern Standby, AMD, ULINK, and many other platforms, effectively solving compatibility problems for PC OEMs on different platforms.
Manufacturers with security encryption requirements can benefit from TCG Opal 2.0 and Pyrite 2.0, two specifications that can be used to strengthen the confidentiality of SSD data and enable internal information to be automatically encrypted and decrypted quickly in the product without turning to host-end processing. Therefore, these two specifications can effectively reduce the risk of data leakage without affecting system performance. At present, XP2000 has been certified by ULINK and TCG.

Outlook
FORESEE XP2000 PCIe SSDs are currently under active verification with major PC OEM clients. FORESEE will release Gen4 BGA SSDs and M.2 2242 & M.2 2230 form factor interfaces to meet diverse market needs in the future.
