Featuring the theme of “Explore the Unknown · Find the Future,” the China Flash Memory Market Summit 2023 (hereinafter referred to as “CFMS 2023”) was successfully held in Shenzhen on March 23 to bring together global storage industry chain and terminal application enterprises to discuss the development of the industry.
Mr. Cai Huabo, Chairman of Longsys, was invited to deliver a speech entitled “Building New Storage Dimensions,” in which he shared how Longsys has managed to transform from a storage module factory to a comprehensive storage service provider, as well as the “genes” and “recipes” behind its spiral growth in this domain.
Mr. Cai said that Longsys entered the market as a trader and was stereotyped a “module factory” by the industry, although it has kept expanding its business and product matrix for more than 20 years. In the next 10 years, Longsys will innovate on its image and work in technology depth, product breadth, supply chain value, brand internationalization, digital operation, financial compliance, service quality, and other areas to continue to tap into the storage market and build new storage dimensions as a comprehensive service provider, its current role.

Longsys Developing Flash Technology Applications from Nothing
In his speech, Mr. Cai presented a full introduction of the diverse storage dimensions of Longsys, including its self-developed technologies. In recent years, Longsys has boosted its R&D efforts and successfully launched its first SLC NAND Flash in 2022. Leveraging firmware algorithms, test equipment, quality management, and other proprietary processes, Longsys has secured remarkable achievements in flash technology applications.

Novel Materials for Innovative Storage Applications
Regarding the iteration of storage products, Mr. Cai said that manufacturers were facing huge challenges in packaging technologies and processes when they needed to keep or even reduce the dimensions while the capacities and performance of mainstream products in the market were increasing. To this end, Longsys solved storage solved problems such as heat dissipation, data security, and process reliability with packaging materials by applying new materials in storage products, improving the competitiveness from different dimensions.

Business Competitiveness in IP Rights
Focusing on R&D for a long time, Longsys is being granted more and more high-quality invention patents. Longsys has established a core standard patent reserve covering eMMC, UFS, SD&SSD, and other storage products to solve core patent barriers for marketing such products overseas, use its advantages in IP rights to help sell such products abroad, and empower its business competitiveness. Together with its consumer storage brand Lexar, Longsys works closely with various industry standard associations and participates in standard formulations actively. It has reached strategic cooperation with SD-3C, HMT, and other world-renowned essential storage standard patent organizations to jointly build a fair market.
Mr. Cai also shared his opinions about the changes and trends of storage applications. Different from other industries, storage products are being used in more and more scenarios as devices are becoming more and more intelligent. Therefore, Lexar is expanding the application domain of its storage products from photography to e-sports. In the future, it will cover young user groups with richer products and continue to stimulate its brand vitality.
Meanwhile, Longsys and FORESEE, two ToB brands, will concentrate on high-end storage markets of the industry. For embedded storage products, they allow clients to combine separate storage products and composite ones freely according to their special needs. Featuring a coverage of all capacity options (up to 1 TB) and industry protocols, they adapt to almost all consumer electronics on the market. For automotive storage products, they have launched automotive eMMC and UFS with SLC, pSLC, and other chip type options in mainland China. In virtue of high-level localized services and delivery capabilities, Longsys has served more than 20 Chinese and foreign automakers and developed a “first mover advantage” with its automotive storage products, which have been used for automotive data black boxes, ADAS, DVRs, intelligent cockpits, and other applications.
For enterprise products, Longsys is developing data center storage products in Shanghai, and it has established a data center storage line in Zhongshan. It is one of the very few Chinese storage companies that allow clients to combine eSSD (SATA and NVMe) and RDIMM, two types of flash and DRAM products at will.
Longsys wins the Best Memory Application Innovation Award at CFMS 2023.
Starting as a storage trading company and a technology-based storage brand enterprise, Longsys engages in characteristic and independent operations and works with partners to promote the industrial chain and optimize quality standards, provide clients with premium services and products, and evolve into a comprehensive storage service provider. In the future, it will continue to expand the scope and dimensions of comprehensive storage services to enhance its competitiveness.
