If you still need to hold down a full time job while at the same time trying to build up your online portfolio you should be looking to build income from projects that take little time and maintenance. It’s all very well for someone to write a book telling you to create a site then submit 5 articles a day for a month (This was really the recommendation in a report I read this week!) but it’s not realistic. Yes you could outsource the work but you’d soon have spent $750-$1000 before you’d made a cent. This is now money that you have to recuperate before you are in profit.
We’ve had a lot of people join the income academy who have spent hundreds of dollars on e-books and programs only to find that they don’t have the basic knowledge of how to make the programs earn them money or they just don’t have the time to put them into operation
In one case a member had spent over $1500 and hadn’t made any money back. What they failed to realize that no matter what the program or type of site you will still need to promote it.
I saw a thread in a forum this week where the guy was just starting out and had a plan to spend this week building 30 sites. I tried to explain to him that he would do much better by building 1 or 2 and concentrating on those but he was adamant that by building 30 he would find a few that would be successful. Unless he finds a magic bottle with a genie it’s not going to happen.
Try to find yourself some sites that don’t take long to build and have a minimum amount of maintenance required. This will free up more of your time to promote these sites. Once you have made some profit you can then look at outsourcing. it’s also a lot easier to make mistakes on 1 or 2 small sites than it is on 30 sites that you’ve just put up.
Before I moved onto my current projects I chose to build a number of Adsense sites. These took up very little time once they were built and I was able to promote them and update them on a regular basis. As soon as I was getting a good Income from them I was able to move on to other projects. I knew that whatever happened I had the income from the Adsense sites to fall back on.
You should look to use as many of the free resources available to you as possible when you are starting out. Use tools like Wordpress to build your sites, you can then easily add Adsense or affiliate programs to earn money. Use google alerts to get topics you can write about on your Wordpress site. I created a site with Wordpress and a datafeed from Goldencan which has already made me over $300 this year. All for a cost of an $8 domain.
There are many free resources available. a quick search around the internet and a few forums will throw up a whole host of them.
This is just one very simple method of creating low maintenance income there are many more available to you. You don’t need to spend money to get started. If you would like more information on similar methods which won’t cost you a fortune then please visit The Income Academy You’ll find details below.
